Preparing for winter

The capital’s preparation for the autumn-winter period, the protection of critical infrastructure, and the implementation of the Comprehensive Resilience Plan were the main topics of a coordination meeting chaired by the Minister of Reconstruction, Infrastructure, and Transport of Ukraine, Mykola Kalashnyk.

 

Particular attention was paid to engineering and technical protection of energy and utility infrastructure facilities, the development of distributed generation, the implementation of cogeneration units, ensuring backup power supply for heating and water supply facilities, as well as adherence to the schedules for implementing measures that determine Kyiv’s readiness for the autumn-winter period.

During the meeting, reports from responsible executors on the implementation of resilience plan measures and adherence to approved schedules were heard. The Minister emphasized that all work must be completed strictly within the defined deadlines, as it concerns critical infrastructure facilities, upon whose functioning the safety and life support of the capital depend.

Following the meeting, the Minister instructed to immediately initiate amendments to the regulatory legal acts necessary to remove procedural barriers and accelerate the implementation of the Comprehensive Resilience Plan measures.

Responsible executors have been instructed to provide detailed work execution schedules for each facility within the shortest possible time, defining clear final completion dates. The State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine has been tasked with ensuring daily monitoring of work progress at all facilities of the Comprehensive Resilience Plan, promptly informing the Ministry of any deviations from approved schedules, and immediately responding to risks that may affect project implementation timelines.

Earlier, it was reported that over 2400 apartment buildings had their energy independence strengthened.
