Ukrzaliznytsia to receive 92 more new passenger wagons of Ukrainian productionUkrzaliznytsia has finalized an agreement for the procurement of 92 new passenger carriages, comprising 83 compartment carriages and 9 barrier-free carriages with inclusive compartments. The construction of these new wagons is scheduled for completion between 2027 and 2028.This was announced by the Minister for Restoration, Infrastructure, and Transport of Ukraine, Mykola Kubrakov.Out of the 92 passenger cars ordered, 83 are compartment-type, adaptable for use as both compartment and sleeper carriages, while an additional 9 are state-of-the-art barrier-free carriages featuring inclusive compartments.According to Kubrakov, Ukrainian enterprises involved in the manufacturing of components and equipment will be engaged in the production of these wagons.In 2026, Ukrzaliznytsia took delivery of 21 new passenger wagons manufactured in Ukraine. The production process involved 166 Ukrainian businesses.Under the government program, 358 new passenger wagons have already been contracted, with 187 currently in service transporting passengers.
